Mattresses needed!

Friends in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado and Wyoming:

We need your help. Do you have contacts at local colleges or universities in your area? Most summers, we collect mattresses from schools across the region. This year, our typical contacts haven’t been able to share any mattresses with us, and our stockpile is dwindling.

Re-Member gives new life to twin and twin-xl mattresses. We prefer the “blue-style” mattresses seen here. Mattresses with stains and/or tears are not accepted.

With our staff, volunteers build twin-size single and bunk beds in our workshop, and deliver more than 100 beds each year across the Pine Ridge Reservation, at the request of families and elders in need. Each bed we provide includes a mattress, new bedding, and books.

We are looking for quantities of mattresses that would fill a large U-Haul style truck. Smaller quantities – while appreciated – would be difficult to coordinate for pick-up and delivery back to Pine Ridge.
