July Update

After a few days of rest, we are back to work as we pass the halfway point of the “summer season” here at Re-Member. Despite remaining closed to volunteers due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, our staff has remained (very) busy. We began our construction work back in April this year, and have accomplished quite a bit in the last three months:

  • Beds delivered: 29

  • Ramps built: 9

  • Deck/steps completed: 8

  • Outhouses installed: 7

  • Skirts finished: 3

As of July 5, an additional 122 community requests for service have been received this year.

Our “Feather II” community gardens are off to a great start this summer, with more than 20 varieties of fresh produce growing!

We remain so very grateful for your continued and generous support from afar. Below, you will find several opportunities to stay connected to Re-Member, and the Oglala Lakota people of Pine Ridge.

2022 season information

We intend to begin accepting trip requests for our 2022 season on August 1.

Each group will be limited to no more than 14 individuals, with a weekly cap set at no more than 42 volunteers. The per-person program fee will be $695, inclusive of a 4.5% tribal excise tax. Later this month we will be launching a new website, featuring a “live calendar” with the opportunity to request your spot(s) in real time. Additional information about our new website, and this new trip booking functionality will be widely shared in the coming weeks.
