September Update

As summer draws to a close, it is hard to believe that we have now gone almost two full years without any volunteers. COVID-19 has reshaped our lives, but our commitment to the Oglala Lakota people remains.

Devorah’s efforts in the “Feather II” community gardens are yielding the early days of a bountiful harvest. Bill, Michelle and Will continue to improve the quality of life for dozens of families through our construction projects. And Kim has been busy sorting and distributing donations all summer.

We thank you for your continued, and generous support. You make our work possible. You are Re-Member. Below, you will find several opportunities to stay connected to Re-Member, and the Oglala Lakota people of Pine Ridge.

2022 season information

We began accepting trip requests for our 2022 season on August 1. Plenty of availability remains, and can be seen in real-time on our website.

Each group will be limited to no more than 14 individuals, with a weekly cap set at no more than 42 volunteers. The per-person program fee is $695, inclusive of a 4.5% tribal excise tax. All meals, lodging, transportation and construction materials utilized while on the reservation are included in the program fee.

Turtle Trot updates

Re-Member's Operations Manager William Paese signed up to run the Mount Rushmore Half Marathon last summer as part of Re-Member's Turtle Trot fundraiser. Although the race was cancelled due to COVID, Will ran a virtual half here at Re-Member, and raised almost $1,500.

This year’s race is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, and Will plans to run! You can support his efforts with a charitable gift via a Facebook fundraiser through Sunday, September 19. Will’s goal is to raise an additional $1,500 in support of Re-Member’s work.

Want to do a Trot of your own? Join fellow supporters and volunteers from across the United States and around the world for a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon (or any run/walk of your choosing) in support of Re-Member and the Oglala Lakota people of Pine Ridge.

Your $35 registration fee includes a branded Re-Member tank top that will be mailed to you, and a $10 charitable contribution receipt for tax purposes.

Save the date: Virtual Celebration & Update

Join fellow Re-Member supporters from across the county and around the world on Saturday, October 9 for an end-of-season gathering of fellowship and reflection on this unprecedented 2021 season.
