November Update

November 1 marks the change of seasons here at Re-Member. Although we have been lucky to avoid any early-season snow, our nighttime temperatures are dropping, and the days are getting shorter. With that in mind, we begin the winter heating season today, as the buzz of chainsaws replaces sanders and drills until next spring.

As we conclude our second season without volunteers, we are grateful for all that we were able to accomplish this summer with your support. If you were not able to join us for our virtual celebration and update last month, you can visit our 2021: year in review blog post for a recap of some of the important news and information we shared, including a poignant message from our friend and cultural presenter, Will Peters.

With the busy holiday season ahead of us, please read on to learn more about how you can lend your support in the coming weeks, and plan for a visit to Pine Ridge in 2022.

SAVE THE DATE: GIVE THE GIFT OF WARMTH ON “GIVING TUESDAY”

ALTERNATIVE GIFT GIVING OPTIONS

We encourage you to consider our alternative gift giving options this holiday season. Make a contribution to Re-Member in honor of a friend or loved one, and Re-Member will send a personalized card to the recipient, acknowledging your gift.

You can also shop Re-Member’s online store for beautiful handcrafted items from many Oglala Lakota artisans. Your purchase directly supports the artists of Pine Ridge, and Re-Member’s work across the reservation. Shop early to avoid any potential shipping delays!

AMAZON SMILE: YOU SHOP – AMAZON GIVES

If you are shopping Amazon for the holidays, be sure that you have designated an Amazon Smile charity of your choosing. All eligible purchases can generate a donation for Re-Member, at no additional cost to you! You can also now designate a charity in your Amazon mobile app.

2022 SEASON INFORMATION

We began accepting trip requests for our 2022 season on August 1. Plenty of availability remains, and can be seen in real-time on our website.

Each group will be limited to no more than 14 individuals, with a weekly cap set at no more than 42 volunteers. The per-person program fee is $695, inclusive of a 4.5% tribal excise tax. All meals, lodging, transportation and construction materials utilized while on the reservation are included in the program fee.

On behalf of the Oglala Lakota community we serve, thank you for your continued support.
