December Update

The end of the year is almost here, and we are so grateful for all the people who have made 2024 such an incredible year. Several days ago, on Giving Tuesday, we set a goal to raise $50,000 to support our Winter Heating Assistance Program.

We are happy to report that we not only met but surpassed this goal!

All funds raised will be utilized to help families stay warm in the wintertime. This program offers families a meaningful boost with firewood and home-heating payments throughout the season. Dangerous temperatures and brutal weather are frequent in the winter months, and the assistance Re-Member offers goes a long way to provide peace of mind and keep people safe.

We cannot emphasize enough how much your support means to everyone around here. 2024 was a time of change and transition at Re-Member with new folks in new positions, new voices, and new leadership. Though much was different, much remained the same. An incredible amount of support from the Re-Member extended family is one thing that has endured throughout our existence as an organization. We thank you for standing with us as we continue to do the same alongside the Oglala Lakota people.

With your support, we were able to accomplish a tremendous amount in 2024.

We are grateful to have a network of supporters who believe in what can be here on Pine Ridge. We remain committed to simply being here and being beneficial in the ways that we are asked and in the ways that we are able. Thank you for providing us the opportunity to make a difference and for continuing to be a part of our story.

Re-Member is hiring!

We are now accepting applications for 2025 Program Supervisors. This position, generally a 3-6 week commitment, is an awesome opportunity to spend more time on the reservation, build meaningful relationships, and grow as an individual. Working at Re-Member is both a challenging and rewarding experience that is truly unlike any other.

We are also seeking applicants for our Program Manager position. This is a full-time, seasonal, live-in position that manages the Re-Member program throughout the volunteer season.

As we look ahead to the new year, there is great reason for optimism on the Rez. There is so much happening that gives us hope. We aim to be a part of the momentum that helps redefine what is possible here on Pine Ridge. We thank you for your staying updated on all things Re-Member. For bringing awareness to the reality that exists here on the reservation and for recognizing the value of a community that has been wronged and has so much to offer.
