July Update
Summer is rolling by and its Kid’s Week here at Re-Member! Once a year Re-Member hosts this special week where we drop our age limit from 12 to 8 and offer a unique program for younger volunteers. It’s great to have the energy, excitement and enthusiasm of these young ones infused into our program for the week. It’s wonderful to see how much they learn, the friendships they create and everything they soak in over the course of their time here on Pine Ridge. We run our standard program simultaneously, so parents and volunteers of all ages are still welcome to sign up during this week!
Though the season has flown by, much has been accomplished – projects continue to be completed and lives continue to be impacted. Beds and outhouses built in our workshop one day, are taken out and installed or assembled the next, filling a need for families in the community. We continue to build ramps and deck-and-step sets to provide safe access into homes. Our gardens are growing and soon we will begin harvesting the first substantial crops of the summer at Feather II!
The days are getting hotter but Re-Member volunteers and our committed staff keep showing up to do the work that needs to be done. We have climbed up near triple digits on several days already this summer, and next week is looking to be a scorcher. We will keep the Mni (water) flowing, catch some shade and take a break as needed, but we will keep on keeping on. Because that’s what we do here at Re-Member.
As much as the hot summer days can present challenges when working on physically taxing construction projects or out in our gardens, we are aware of the everyday challenges faced by the community. We are fortunate to be able to do the work we do. We recognize the opportunity we have to make an important impact.
We will host volunteer groups throughout the summer until the conclusion of our season at the end of September. There are still open slots for volunteer weeks this season, especially in August and September. If you won’t make it to the reservation this season, we hope to see you sometime soon, whether it be at our Year-End Celebration or as a volunteer in 2025!

Check out the Re-Member Amazon Wish List
Our Amazon Wish List continues to be an effective means of allowing us to maximize our impact in the community.
Thanks to the generosity of Re-Member’s support network, many of our program needs are filled by Wish List orders. Items such as paper towels, toilet paper, sanders, drills, tires, and more are shipped to us directly from folks around the country. These donations allow us to redirect funds that would otherwise be spent on program needs where they are needed most—to support our work out in the community.
Check out our Wish List and consider making a purchase in support of our program.
Re-Member has become such an impactful organization in large part because of the incredible support we receive from people like you. Thank you for continuing to keep up with our work – YOU ARE RE-MEMBER!
